Evotech supports Ripon Sailing Club to improve club house air quality

15 Oct 2020

Evotech recently installed a mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) system in Ripon Sailing Club’s club house, to improve the air quality for members and their families and reduce the Club’s energy costs and carbon emissions.

Evotech designed, supplied, and installed the equipment, free of charge, as the Sailing Club’s existing mechanical extract system was beyond economical repair.

MVHR systems provide filtered fresh air into a building whilst retaining most of the energy that has already been used in heating the space. The system fulfils the need for extract ventilation within the toilets and changing areas, whilst maintaining the air quality through a constant supply of fresh air throughout the building and keeping running costs to an absolute minimum.

Evotech’s design team specified a Nuaire MRXBOXAB-ECO3 system which provides optimised, balanced ventilation with a heat recovery efficiency of 95%. The system will improve the overall indoor air quality within the building, reducing dust and allergen levels to make the club house environment healthier.

The system is designed to operate all year round and has a motion sensor installed to automatically engage boost mode when occupancy levels increase within the building.

A community amateur sports club, Ripon Sailing Club is a Royal Yachting Association training centre and has a thriving membership that spans all ages and abilities. The Club was formed in 1957 and the current club house was built 35 years ago. The new MVHR system has brought the club house into the 21st century in line with current air quality and environmental guidelines.

Commodore of Ripon Sailing Club, Jamie Kerslake says, “I would like to officially thank Evotech on behalf of the club. Their generous support has significantly improved the air quality in the club house and helped the club reduce its carbon footprint by designing, supplying, and installing the MVHR system at no cost to the club.”
