Evotech Technical Services has been recognised at the ASHRAE UK Building Services Exhibition & Technology Awards 2026, winning the Technology Award for Innovative HVAC Optimisation Solutions.

Presented to our team at Loughborough University on 27th March, the award celebrates outstanding achievement and was awarded for Evotech’s myBEMS Remote HVAC Optimisation platform. Developed four years ago, myBEMS has been deployed across numerous commercial sites, consistently delivering energy savings of 20-30% per annum whilst supporting clients’ net zero goals.

Last week the UK Green Building Council launched two landmark reports focused on accelerating the decarbonisation of non-domestic buildings, which account for 23 percent of the UK’s built environment emissions. In a webinar industry experts discussed the reports - Practical Actions for Optimising Energy Use and Building the Case for Net Zero: Retrofitting Retail & Logistics Buildings - which set out clear, actionable pathways for reducing energy use and carbon at scale.

With contributions from The Institution of Environmental Sciences, the reports provide evidence-led guidance to support both operational optimisation and strategic retrofit planning. Emphasising low-cost, high-impact interventions, they equip project teams with the insight needed to act with confidence and consistency in progressing towards Net Zero.

We are delighted to announce the addition of a new electric van dedicated to our client’s Fosse Park site, marking the sixth commercial EV to join our growing fleet. This latest addition supports our ongoing commitment to sustainability in lowering our carbon footprint whilst continuing to deliver top-tier service to our clients.

The vehicle is operated by our on-site engineer to support maintenance activities across the extensive retail and commercial space, totalling 416,536 sq ft. With zero tailpipe emissions, the van is helping reduce air pollution and operating costs, whilst supporting greener operations and broader sustainability objectives.

This is the second electric vehicle we have deployed to a major retail destination, following the successful introduction of an EV at Rushden Lakes last year. Expanding our electric fleet is a key part of our long-term strategy, and we are proud to continue investing in solutions that deliver both environmental and operational benefits.
