Evotech awarded gold level
health & safety accreditation
We are proud to announce that Evotech has been awarded Gold status for Constructionline, which is just one of three health and safety accreditations the company is independently assessed for each year.
Health and safety processes and training is crucial in our industry to help keep both staff and building occupants safe from harm.
The Gold Level certification shows that our business meets industry standards, including PAS 91 and the Common Assessment Standard, so we pre-qualify across core modules required by public and private sector buyers. Constructionline Gold demonstrates to customers and prospects that our organisation has been subjected to increased scrutiny around governance and risk management.

Summer has arrived – but
what does this mean for air
quality?
John Lumb, Director at Evotech Air Quality, explains
how summer weather conditions can negatively
affect air quality and how we can prepare for this.
With the clear blue skies and warm sunny days of
Summer, it’s easy to think that air pollution will be at its lowest, but that is often not the
case. Heat waves can often lead to poor air quality as the extreme heat and polluted
air increase the amount of both low level ozone and particulate pollution.
For people with chronic lung conditions like COPD, asthma or chronic bronchitis; people
with heart disease or diabetes; children and the elderly, high pollution levels mixed with
high temperatures can cause serious health problems.
In many cases indoor air quality is not much better than that outside, and John
discusses solutions that can help when a modern, well optimised mechanical
ventilation system is not available.

New cladding rules for
medium-rise buildings

2018, however, in early 2020, the government
suggested also banning the use of such materials for
buildings above 11m in height and ran a new
consultation which has resulted in new regulations.
For information on which building work will be affected and when the changes take
effect, the Government has published an amendment booklet. The legislation will
bring hotels, hostels, and boarding houses within its scope.
