#CleanAirSchools
Launched on Clean Air Day 2021, we have provided 5 local Calderdale schools with a fully funded air quality monitoring programme, working with our partners Airthings and Airly

Improving awareness of classroom air quality
Working with our Calderdale schools we have created classroom air quality boards to enable teachers and pupils to monitor and track CO2 levels, and to provide a focal point to support the development of air quality awareness
Why is it important to monitor CO2?
CO2 levels rise quickly in classrooms often exceeding the DfE guidance of 1500ppm (parts per million)
This can directly affect our school children, causing tiredness, lack of concentration and increases the risk of virus transmissions like Covid-19, flu and colds

A study of classroom PM1/2.5/10 will start in the autumn 2022 term to monitor levels of airborne particulate matter and to identify solutions to create safer indoor environments for our school children
